Dear Residents,

Please be advised that there is a Winter Storm Warning in effect from midnight through tomorrow, 2/5 at 6pm. This storm will bring heavy snow and icy conditions to the area. The roadways will deteriorate quickly.

There is a STATEWIDE SALT SHORTAGE and we are urging motorists to stay off the roads tonight and tomorrow.

During this time, the City will be offering free parking in the Downtown Parking Garage for all residents effective immediately. Please note that the roof deck of the parking garage will be closed. There will also be additional parking in the Liberty School parking lot.

During the storm, the Police and Public Works Departments will be working to enforce snow parking restrictions as per City Ordinance § 25-21 Parking During Snow Accumulation. The following streets are not to be parked on while streets are snow covered:

. Grand Avenue
. Engle Street
. Dean Street
. Palisade Avenue
. Dana Place
. Broad Avenue
. Van Brunt Street
. West & East Englewood Avenue
. Lafayette Place
. Lafayette Avenue
. West Forest Avenue

. Jones Road
. Lydecker Street
. Booth Avenue
. West Hudson Avenue
. Tenafly Road
. Knickerbocker Road
. Liberty Road

We urge residents on the above streets to take advantage of the free garage parking. If you are able to park in your driveways, please do so to assist in the street cleaning process. The Police Department will ensure that the Ordinance is enforced which may subject those in violation to tickets, tows and/or fines.

Please use extreme caution throughout the day tomorrow.
