Winter Storm Warning & Parking

Dear Residents:

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter storm warning from 6p Thursday 1/2 through 1p Friday 1/3. During this time, the City will be offering free parking in the Downtown Parking Garage for all rsidents until Saturday 1/4. Please note that the roof of the parking garage will be closed. We are also offering parking in the Liberty School parking lot.

During the storm, the Police and Public Works Departments will be working to enforce snow parking restrictions as per City Ordinance 25-21 Parking During Snow Accumulation. The following streets are not to be parked on while streets are snow covered: Grand Ave., Engle St., Dean St., Palisade Ave., Dana Pl., Broad Ave., Van Brunt St., W. & E. Englewood Ave., Lafayette Pl., Lafayette Ave., W. Forest Ave., E. Linden Ave., Jones Rd., Lydecker St., Booth Ave., W. Hudson Ave., Tenafly Rd., Knickerbocker Rd., Liberty Rd., Van Nostrand Ave., William St., N. & S. Woodland Ave.

We urge residents on the above streets to take advantage of the free garage parking. The Police Dept. will ensure that the Ordinance is enforced which may be subject to tickets, tows and/or fines.

The Public Works Dept. is preparing for the prolonged snow event and have begun to brine and salt major arteries and hills throughout the City. During the snow event, the department will be working to keep primary streets passable.
