Hurricane Irene Alert
I am writing to assure you that the City is prepared for Hurricane Irene. All of the department heads met today and to work out the details for the City’s Emergency Operations Center.
In the event that a shelter is needed, the Cleveland Elementary School, located at 325 Tenafly, will be opened.
For your safety, do not touch downed trees, electrical wires or solar panels.
The City’s Municipal Garage will be open and free to the public from 3:00pm on Saturday until 8:00am on Monday. Residents may enter and exit on Englewood Avenue and leave their cars in the garage during this time period. The trolley service will not be running as of Saturday at 3:00pm.
The City will send out emergency notices via our emergency phone alert system. If you have not already signed up, please do so by filling out our Swift911 form which can be located on our homepage. Hurricane alerts will also be posted on the City of Englewood’s website at http://www.cityofenglewood.org/. Updates from the State can be found at http://ready.nj.gov/.
